This is how Pre-Boiled rice is made.

Processing Pre-Boiled rice.

Pre boiled rice is widely used all over the world. Rice processing is still an unknown process for many people. In this article, we will take a look at the processes through which rice is processed.

Reception of Paddy to the factory

Once paddy entered the rice processing plant, it is made sure that it is out of moisture and impurities which is suitable for storage. Slios are usually used to store the dry grain, or in case of a small scale and old-school rice mill the paddy is stored in sacks organized and out of moisture in gowdons.

First stage of processing

The paddy is soaked in fresh water for certain amount of time depending upon the verity. Once the soaking is done, paddy is dryed either using a dryer machine or simple sun drying. Once the moisture content is reduced to a certain level, the paddy is ready to good to go for the next stage of processing.

Removing stones and impurities

The small stones and impurities present in the paddy is removed by an industrial destoner and the paddy is good to go for the next stage.

Hulling of paddy

Hulling of paddy is done by industrial hullers used in rice industries. The outer layer of hull is removed by the pressure caused by two fixed plates. The hull layer is separated during this step and collected in a particular place for int own applications.

Whitening of rice

During the next stage, the bran layer of the rice is pealed off by rice polisher machine. During this process rice enters in between two aggressive surfaces either with no water or with some amount of water sprayed during the process. The bran layer is obtained as a sub-product in this stage. ( This step of rice processing may not be followed in all places, this is done only as per the customer's demand)

Color sorting of rice

The damaged and black colored rice is separated by a color shorting machine. The rice entering the machine is clearly observed and blacks are removed by a pressurized blower by air.

Grading as per size

Grading the rice by size is done by a grading machine which separates the rice from the broken ones. The brokens are meant to be the second quality rice product.

Weighing and packing of rice

Once the processing of rice grain is over, it is now ready to be weighed and packed. Large sized industries uses packing machines for its packing and the small companies use labours for packing its product.
