Apple aims for a zero carbon footprint.
Apple being the first company to achieve a trillion-dollar worth, now focuses on its carbon footprint made to the earth. Apple's massive target is to get the carbon footprint made by its products to zero by the year 2030. But thinking of that, is it really possible? If possible, can the majority of the companies follow the same? let's talk about that in this article.
Manufacturing an electronic device needs many elements in different propositions, most of the elements used either needs a difficult process of extraction or the metal itself is a rare and valuable one. The mining and extraction processes of these metals are both expensive and makes harm to our environment.
For a starter who has no idea about the term carbon footprint, let me explain simply. The term carbon footprint is the impact made to our atmosphere by our actions in terms of carbon dioxide emission. As Apple said, creating such a condition requires a lot of effort and support from the public. All the old and unusable Apple products must be recycled and should be used for the manufacturing of new products. With the current level of discipline and support among the major people in the world, do this is nearly practically impossible. No new metal extraction should be done by Apple or either of its suppliers. Only 94% of the US population supports recycling. The first step they took towards their journey is to remove the earphones and charger inside the box. There might be a chance but the probability of not achieving this is very high.
Hope this article gives you an idea about Apple's vision on environmental impact. Follow this blog if you like our work.
Have a great day :)
